The Novium Museum Chichester designed by Keith Williams Architects has become a Nationally Accredited Museum having been granted Full Accreditation status by Arts Council England.
Arts Council England states “The Accreditation Scheme sets out nationally-agreed standards, which inspire the confidence of the public and funding and governing bodies. It enables museums to assess their current performance, as well as supporting them to plan and develop their services. The award of accreditation centres not on size but on the quality and care of its collection and the manner in which its display is programmed.”
Accreditation is an important recognition of the work that the Novium Museum team have undertaken in terms of management, the services offered and the standard of care of the collection and places it on a par with major museums across the country. Accredited museums range from those of international standing such as the British Museum and Dulwich Picture Gallery alongside regional and local museums including the Horniman Museum, Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge and the Manchester Museum and are a key component of Britain’s cultural landscape.
