Precisely a quarter of a century ago, on 5 January 2001, our founder Keith Williams established Keith Williams Architects along with director then and now, Richard Brown.
For context, Tony Blair was in No10 and George W Bush was about to enter the White House.
It has been an amazing journey, and those 25 years seem to have gone by in a blink.
Whilst our built work has been centred chiefly in the UK and Ireland with a considerable number of high-profile, award-winning buildings successfully achieved, a great many projects and competitions have taken us to Canada, China, most of Europe, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the UAE and the USA reflecting Keith’s view that architecture is in the end a truly global endeavour.
Our buildings for museums, art galleries, libraries, theatres, opera, music and civic architecture are building types for which we are renowned, but these are accompanied by our projects in the university sector, city masterplanning, housing and mixed-use buildings for developers, as well as houses for private clients.
This has given us a very broad base of sector expertise and for all that time we have placed sustainability at the heart of all our projects.

Our projects have won approaching 50 major design and architecture awards including nominations for the RIAI Triennial Gold Medal and the Stirling Prize of which we are justly proud.
We continue to chase the dream, thinking, designing, creating, forever curious and explorative, forever seeking and embracing fresh ideas and technological advances but never letting go of the expertise that we have developed or the fundamentals of great architecture around which to wrap them.
Whilst we are pleased to celebrate our many achievements to date, we believe that the best is yet to come with a number of exceptional projects currently in the studio.
We would like to thank our many clients who have trusted us with their commissions, our collaborators, consultants, contractors, all our friends in the media and of course our great staff team over the years who have been part of our journey.
We hope to continue working with as many of you as possible in the decades ahead.
