In an in-depth article, the distinguished Irish architect Louise Cotter of Cotter & Naessens, explores the genesis of the project, and the history and context of the county town of Ennis in which the newly completed de Valera Library is located.

Cotter introduces the project at an urban level stating that “Keith Williams Architects’ library and art gallery in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland, is a critical building block in the town’s social infrastructure and a well-used civic space”

Cotter then examines the building in detail before concluding..

“Generous and inspiring spaces crafted in robust and enduring materials will stand the test of time and reward astute investment for future generations. These trends are all evident in the de Valera Library & Súil Gallery, which is already a much used and appreciated civic space in the community, and a critical step forward in a town centre focussed urban strategy for Ennis.”

We are particularly pleased to see this important project featured in Architecture Today, one of the UK’s leading publications on architecture and the built environment.

Our thanks to Louise Cotter and Isabel Allen : Editor of Architecture Today
